To celebrate the International Year of Glacier Preservation and the start of the Decade of Action for Cryospheric Science promoted by the United Nations, on International Mountain Day, the DSSTTA Working Group on Mountains is organising a Day on the Cryosphere on Friday 12 December 2025 at the CNR headquarters, open to the entire scientific community and representatives of civil society active in this field.
The activities and projects currently underway on the Cryosphere at national level will be presented with contributions relating to one of the sessions that will make up the day:
- The cryosphere as a climate indicator
- Cryosphere and water resources
- The cryosphere as a risk factor
The event will take place in the morning and will be followed by a light lunch and an exhibition area where additional contributions will be presented in the form of posters and manned displays (instruments, research equipment, videos, etc.). This space will be designed as an attractive area for the scientific community, journalists and interested members of the public.
