custom_margin=&#8221;2em||||false|false&#8221; global_colors_info=&#8221;{}&#8221;]<\/p>\n<h2><strong>What we do<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>AIRBORNE was established to ensure the <strong>full operational capability and continuous use <\/strong>of the CNR\u2019s aerial platforms (ERA <strong>Sky Arrow 650 TCNS<\/strong>) and to facilitate f<strong>light campaigns<\/strong> in support of scientific research, technology demonstration, training, and validation under real-world operational conditions. Within the framework of the <strong>CNR\u2019s facilities,<\/strong> AIRBORNE strengthens the organization\u2019s role as a key player in the development of the <strong>space and aerospace sectors<\/strong>, promoting technology transfer, collaboration between public research and industry, and the maturation of highly reliable technologies. <\/p>\n<p>AIRBORNE plays an enabling role: it makes it possible to \u201cfly\u201d complex instruments and systems, transforming the aircraft into a <strong>mobile laboratory<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Main activities<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Management and maintenance<\/strong> of the airworthiness of CNR <strong>Sky Arrow<\/strong> aircraft and their scientific configuration.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Planning and coordination <\/strong>of flight campaigns and experimental activities, including those related to the <strong>AVIOLANCIO <\/strong>program and aeronautical and <strong>suborbital <\/strong>initiatives.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Integration, testing, and support <\/strong>for scientific instruments and experimental payloads developed by CNR institutes and national\/international partners.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Technical, regulatory, and permitting coordination <\/strong>with key agencies and authorities: <strong>ENAC<\/strong>, the Italian Air Force, the Ministry of Infrastructure and Transport, <strong>ASI<\/strong>, and other institutional stakeholders.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>[\/et_pb_text][\/et_pb_column][\/et_pb_row][et_pb_row column_structure=&#8221;3_5,2_5&#8243; _builder_version=&#8221;4.27.2&#8243; _module_preset=&#8221;default&#8221; global_colors_info=&#8221;{}&#8221;][et_pb_column type=&#8221;3_5&#8243; _builder_version=&#8221;4.27.2&#8243; _module_preset=&#8221;default&#8221; global_colors_info=&#8221;{}&#8221;][et_pb_text _builder_version=&#8221;4.27.4&#8243; _module_preset=&#8221;default&#8221; header_2_font=&#8221;Roboto Mono||||||||&#8221; header_2_text_color=&#8221;#010619&#8243; global_colors_info=&#8221;{}&#8221;]<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"0\" data-end=\"492\"><strong data-start=\"15\" data-end=\"27\">AIRBORNE<\/strong>\u2019s mission is to establish a stable and reliable infrastructure capable of supporting the entire lifecycle of airborne activities, from <strong data-start=\"153\" data-end=\"170\">design <\/strong>and instrument <strong data-start=\"175\" data-end=\"191\">integration<\/strong> through to <strong data-start=\"232\" data-end=\"240\">flight operations<\/strong>, <strong data-start=\"242\" data-end=\"259\">data collection<\/strong>, and <strong data-start=\"262\" data-end=\"277\">validation<\/strong>. All of this is carried out in accordance with aviation regulations and standards, with the aim of ensuring a continuous and safe service to support the scientific and technological needs of the CNR. <\/p>\n<p data-start=\"494\" data-end=\"992\">In this context, AIRBORNE aims to <strong data-start=\"528\" data-end=\"565\">ensure the operational continuity<\/strong> and availability of CNR\u2019s aerial platforms, <strong data-start=\"614\" data-end=\"643\">accelerate the development<\/strong> of aerospace technologies by mitigating risks through real-world testing, and <strong data-start=\"730\" data-end=\"782\">facilitate training and instruction <\/strong>for personnel involved in operations. These activities are conducted in full compliance with applicable regulations, while maintaining the necessary authorizations for <strong data-start=\"937\" data-end=\"991\">Non-Commercial Specialized Operations (SPO-NCO)<\/strong>. <\/p>\n<p data-start=\"994\" data-end=\"1565\">AIRBORNE relies on a fleet of <strong data-start=\"1028\" data-end=\"1068\">high-performance light aircraft <\/strong>designed to carry advanced sensors and instrumentation, with configurations that can be adapted to meet mission requirements. The <strong data-start=\"1202\" data-end=\"1232\">flagship platform <\/strong>is the E<strong data-start=\"1237\" data-end=\"1263\">RA Sky Arrow 650 TCNS<\/strong>, a versatile and configurable solution used in <strong data-start=\"1327\" data-end=\"1389\">environmental monitoring and \u201cin situ\u201d Earth observation missions<\/strong>, in <strong data-start=\"1406\" data-end=\"1474\">aerospace system validation and technology demonstrations<\/strong>, and in <strong data-start=\"1481\" data-end=\"1506\">experimental missions <\/strong>with flight profiles adaptable to scientific objectives. <\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1567\" data-end=\"1996\" data-is-last-node=\"\" data-is-only-node=\"\">In addition to this equipment, AIRBORNE also develops and supports operations using <strong data-start=\"1643\" data-end=\"1675\">high-performance aircraft,<\/strong> which are particularly useful when more demanding mission profiles are required in terms of <strong data-start=\"1766\" data-end=\"1827\">altitude, speed, dynamics, payloads, and operating conditions<\/strong>. Data collection can be <strong data-start=\"302\" data-end=\"324\">repeated over time <\/strong>and conducted over <strong data-start=\"339\" data-end=\"354\">large areas<\/strong>, thereby ensuring data consistency and the reliability of comparative analyses. <\/p>\n<p data-start=\"431\" data-end=\"848\">A second key area concerns <strong data-start=\"470\" data-end=\"497\">aerospace technologies<\/strong>, for which AIRBORNE provides an operational environment in which to <strong data-start=\"556\" data-end=\"601\">test and validate payloads and subsystems <\/strong>under real-world conditions.
