JPI Oceans

JPI Oceans

The European Joint Programming Initiative Sea and Oceans (JPI Oceans) is a strategic platform for the coordination of research funding programmes in the marine-maritime field. The Department has been actively contributing to the activities since 2011, in particular in the actions on Munitions at Sea and Good Environmental Status.

IODP3-ICDP

IODP3-ICDP

The International Ocean Drilling Programme (IODP3), building on the legacy of the previous IODP, DSPP and ODP programmes, https://www.iodp.org/) and the International Continental Scientific Drilling Programme (ICDP) are the two largest international Earth Science programmes dedicated to scientific drilling in the ocean and continental environments.

Belmont Forum

Belmont Forum

The Belmont Forum is an international partnership of 28 funding agencies and consortia across 6 continents that promotes, through the Collaborative Research Actions (CRA) system, the development of transdisciplinary research projects aimed at understanding, mitigating and adapting to global climate change, implementing a global open data policy.

EMBRC-UP

The PNRR EMBRC-Unlocking the Potential for Health and Food from the seas (EMBRC-UP) Project aims to improve Italian competitiveness in basic and applied marine research in the European context, through the strengthening of the research infrastructures of the EMBRC-IT JRU

SEAmPhonia

SEAmPhonia

SEAmPhonia is a PRIN 2022 project and aims to understand the phenomena underlying the influence of underwater noise on the ecosystem balance, in particular through acoustic field measurements. The project introduces an observation system based on several hydrophones installed at the Acqua Alta oceanographic platform and development activities of an alternative technology based on optical fibres. The DSSTTA participates in the instrumentation design and data analysis.

FOE MARE

FOE MARE

The Mediterranean Sea, a crossroads of three continents, faces challenges related to climate change and resource management. Ecological degradation and pollution threaten the well-being of societies, especially coastal ones.
