During the night between the 15th and the 16th of December, the Metis coronagraph onboard the Solar Orbiter mission has successfully acquired some images of the Leonard comet. The Leonard comet has also been named the “Christmas comet”. Metis is an instrument conceived to study the solar corona, but from time to time it has the chance to observe comets passing inside its field of view.
